Reverse description Minerva, helmeted and draped with aegis falling down her back, strides vigorously to the right in a martial pose. In her raised right hand she brandishes a spear, while her left arm bears a large round shield. This reverse type, one of Domitian's most favored, reflects his personal devotion to Minerva as his divine patron. The legend is disposed around the field, with the senatorial authorization mark S C prominently placed in the lower portion of the design.
