| Reverse description | Standing figure of Minerva, goddess of wisdom and war, depicted facing left in a martial pose. She wears a helmet and holds a spear or thunderbolt in her raised right hand, with a shield or owl resting at her feet to the lower right. The senatorial authorization mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is prominently displayed in large letters to either side of the figure in the field, confirming the authority of the Roman Senate over bronze coinage. The reverse field bears natural patination consistent with prolonged circulation and burial, and the design is rendered in the restrained, classicizing style characteristic of Flavian imperial bronzes. |
