正面描述 Laureate bust of Domitian facing right, draped with aegis visible at the truncation, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and laurel wreath. The imperial effigy conveys an authoritative, idealized portrait in the Flavian style. The encircling Latin legend runs clockwise from the lower left, naming the emperor with his full titulature. A beaded border frames the entire obverse field.

附加信息

Domitian's 85 AD bronzes were struck during a period of aggressive monetary reform — he had raised the silver content of the denarius back toward Augustan standards the previous year, a policy that held until fiscal pressures from his Danubian campaigns forced a reversal around 85–86. The SC bronzes of this year are thus products of a mint operating under unusual ideological pressure to project fiscal discipline while simultaneously funding major military expenditure on the Danube frontier against the Dacians and the Chatti.

RIC II.1 #387 is attributed to the Rome mint under the reorganized tribunician year dating Domitian imposed systematically on his coinage from 85 onward.
