| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bare-necked, laureate bust of Domitian facing right, rendered in the Flavian portrait style with characteristically thick, curly hair confined by a wreath of laurel. The effigy is depicted as a youthful Caesar, son of Vespasian, with strong facial features and a clean-shaven chin. The circumferential legend in Latin capitals runs around the full periphery of the flan, identifying Domitian by his title and consulship. The portrait occupies the majority of the field and is executed in moderately high relief consistent with Flavian-era aes coinage struck at Rome. |
