In her raised right hand she holds a pair of scales, the symbol of impartial justice, while her left hand grasps a long vertical rod or sceptre. The legend AEQVITAS AVGVST is distributed around the field to left and upper right, with the senatorial authorisation mark S C (Senatus Consultum) prominently placed in the lower field to either side of the figure, as was standard on Flavian bronze coinage. |
