| Obverse description | Janiform conjoined busts of two male figures facing in opposite directions, rendered in the traditional archaic style associated with the god Janus. The left-facing bust is bearded, while the right-facing bust appears youthful and clean-shaven, consistent with the iconographic convention for this denomination. The value mark 'I' (denoting the As) appears above in the field. The flan is irregular and broad, characteristic of late Republican military mint production. |
