Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Claudius facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Antioch mint, with finely detailed hair beneath the laurel wreath. The draped shoulder is visible at the truncation. The encircling Latin legend runs around the periphery of the flan, partially visible due to the irregular striking. The portrait conveys a dignified imperial effigy consistent with Julio-Claudian coinage conventions adapted for the eastern provincial series.
