| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bare laureate head of Augustus facing right, rendered with fine detail in the Roman imperial portrait tradition, the laurel wreath bound with a prominent fillet. The bust is truncated at the neck, with the effigy occupying the central field in high relief. The encircling legend is divided, reading CAESAR to the left and PONT MAX to the right, separated by a small star or control mark visible in the upper right field. The portrait exhibits the idealized yet individualized style characteristic of Augustan coinage produced at the Lugdunum mint. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The Ara Romae et Augusti, the altar of Rome and Augustus erected at Lugdunum (modern Lyon), depicted in frontal elevation between two tall columns each surmounted by a Victory standing and holding a laurel wreath. The face of the altar is ornamented with a corona civica (oak wreath) flanked on each side by a nude male figure in low relief. The altar is rendered with architectural precision, conveying the monumental nature of the cult site dedicated to Rome and the emperor. The legend ROM ET AVG appears in the field, referencing the dual dedication of the sanctuary. |
