| Obverse description | Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the idealized Hellenistic portrait style characteristic of Augustan-era Hispanic provincial coinage. The hair is depicted in short, layered strands swept forward over the forehead. The portrait is set within a beaded border, with the magistrates' legend MVN CAL II VIR distributed in the field to either side of the effigy, identifying the municipium of Calagurris and the duoviri responsible for the issue. |
