| Obverse description | Bare male head facing right, identified as a possible portrait of Augustus, rendered in the provincial Hispano-Roman style characteristic of Baetican municipal coinage. The effigy displays schematic facial features with a pronounced brow, and the hair is rendered in short, layered strokes. The Latin legend OSSET appears in the right field, arranged vertically beside the portrait, serving as the mint ethnic rather than a surrounding inscription. The flan is irregular, as typical of hammered provincial bronzes of this period. |
