| Reverse description | A large oak wreath (corona civica) occupies the central field of the reverse, encircling the abbreviation II VIR rendered in Latin capitals at the centre, referencing the two magistrates (duoviri) responsible for the issue. The surrounding legend MVN TVRIASO L MARIO L NOVIO II VIR names the municipium of Turiaso and the two duoviri, L. Marius and L. Novius, who oversaw the coinage. The wreath motif is a civic symbol strongly associated with Augustan ideology and the award of the corona civica. The flan is broad and irregular, with the legend distributed around the full circumference of the coin. |
