Obverse description Bare laureate head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the idealized Roman imperial portrait style typical of Augustan provincial coinage. The emperor's effigy displays a radiate crown of laurel leaves, with finely detailed facial features. The circular Latin legend AVGVSTVS DIVI F runs around the periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor as son of the deified Julius Caesar. The portrait exhibits the characteristic classicizing style associated with early imperial Roman iconography, consistent with Spanish provincial mint production.
