Obverse description Bare laureate head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the idealised provincial style characteristic of Hispanian municipal coinage. The effigy displays short hair with laurel wreath, with facial features executed in relatively high relief despite the irregular flan. The surrounding circular legend reads IMP CAESAR AVGVSTVS P P, identifying the emperor with his full titulature including the honorific Pater Patriae, awarded in 2 BC, which provides the terminus post quem for this issue.
