| Beschrijving keerzijde | A frontal view of the Altar of Providentia (Ara Providentiae), depicted as a rectangular enclosure with a colonnade of four pilasters supporting an entablature, rendered in a schematic architectural style. The large senatorial authority marks S and C (Senatus Consultum) flank the altar to left and right respectively in the mid-field. The legend IMP T VESP REST is distributed around the upper periphery, while PROVIDENT appears in the lower exergual area, together attributing the restitution of this coin type to Titus. The overall design closely follows the prototype struck under Augustus and consciously evokes Augustan pietas and dynastic legitimacy. |
