Reverse description A large eagle stands facing on a globe, its head turned to the left and its wings spread broadly in a heraldic posture, symbolising imperial power and the apotheosis of Augustus. The globe beneath the eagle represents dominion over the world. The senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears prominently in the field to either side of the eagle, flanking the central device. The encircling legend attributing the restitution to Emperor Titus runs along the periphery of the flan.
