| Descrizione del dritto | Bare laureate head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the idealized Julio-Claudian portrait style typical of provincial Hispanic coinage. The legend encircles the effigy in a continuous band around the periphery of the flan. The portrait exhibits strong, classicizing features with a wreath of laurel leaves clearly defined above the brow. The flan is slightly irregular, as is characteristic of hammered Hispanic municipal issues of the Augustan period. |

The legend is distributed around the type in three sections: the names of the two duoviri, CN DOMITIO and C POMPEIO, appear respectively in the upper left and lower fields, while the colonial abbreviation C V I CEL and the magistrates' title II VIR are positioned to the right of the animal. The exergual area and surrounding field are unadorned. The type reflects the standard municipal iconography used at Colonia Victrix Iulia Celsa during the Augustan era. |
