As - Augustus Celsa

Celsa, located on the Ebro in what is now Aragon, was one of the earliest Roman colonies established in Hispania and among a handful of provincial mints authorized to strike bronze under Augustus. The city's coins — including this as — were produced using locally supervised dies, which accounts for the considerable variation in execution across the known specimens catalogued under RPC I 273.

The colony lost its minting privilege sometime during the Augustan period itself, making the entire civic bronze output relatively compressed in date range.
