The magistrates' names C ALSANO and T CERVIO, identified as duumviri (II VIR), appear in the surrounding legend along with the colony name CAESARAVGVSTA, all within a beaded border. This reverse type is a well-attested colonial foundation motif referencing the establishment of Caesaraugusta (modern Zaragoza) as a Roman colony. |
