| Obverse description | Bare or laureate head of Augustus facing right, depicted in the mature imperial style characteristic of provincial Hispanian coinage. The portrait shows strong facial modeling with a prominent nose and chin, typical of Augustan official portraiture. The surrounding legend AVGVSTVS DIVI F (Augustus, Son of the Divine) runs clockwise around the periphery in incuse Latin capitals. The field is flat and unadorned, with the legend nearly filling the available space around the bust. The die work reflects the competent but provincial engraving tradition of the Caesaraugusta mint. |
