Obverse description Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in a idealized Hellenistic portrait style characteristic of early Imperial coinage. The emperor's facial features are finely delineated, with a straight nose and youthful countenance befitting Augustan propaganda. The legend CAISAR appears in the field, partially visible around the portrait. The flan is slightly irregular and shows natural surface patination consistent with bronze coinage of the period. No border decoration is discernible on this specimen.
