Ilturir was a Celtiberian city whose precise location remains unresolved — most scholars place it somewhere in the upper Ebro valley, though no certain archaeological identification has stuck. Its coinage was struck during the period of Roman consolidation following the Sertorian War, when indigenous Iberian mints were permitted to continue producing bronze for local circulation under tacit Roman tolerance, provided the output met regional demand without challenging official Roman silver.
