| Obverse description | Janiform head of the god Janus depicted in high relief, with two bearded, facing busts conjoined back-to-back at the center of the flan. Each face displays archaic stylized features characteristic of the Roman Republican sextantal standard, with pronounced brow ridges and flowing beards rendered in a somewhat schematic manner. A raised pellet or mark appears at the apex between the two heads. The coin is struck on a broad, irregular flan with a beaded border visible around the periphery. |
