Obverse description Bare-headed, draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered in three-quarter rear view, with the characteristic short beard and wavy hair rendered in fine detail typical of Hadrianic portraiture. The effigy displays a paludamentum (military cloak) fastened at the right shoulder, conveying imperial authority. The Latin legend AVGVSTVS HADRIANVS encircles the portrait along the outer rim of the flan.
