Obverse description Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, depicted from the rear, with characteristic short curled hair and trimmed beard rendered in fine relief. The effigy displays the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder over cuirass, typical of Hadrianic imperial portraiture. A beaded inner border frames the field. The encircling Latin legend HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS runs along the periphery.
