Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Caracalla facing right, presented in three-quarter frontal view; the cuirass is adorned with an aegis and a gorgoneion at the chest, rendered in the provincial Greek style characteristic of Mesopotamian mints. The imperial effigy conveys a martial character consistent with Caracalla's iconographic program. The encircling Greek legend identifies the emperor by his official titulature.
