| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Macrinus facing right, depicted in three-quarter view from the front, with a short beard rendered in fine detail. The emperor wears a laurel wreath, a military paludamentum draped over his left shoulder, and segmented plate armour with pteryges visible at the shoulder. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, reading ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΟΠ ϹΕ ΜΑΚΡΙΝΟϹ ϹΕ. The portrait is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Mesopotamian civic issues, with bold, slightly stylised facial features. |
