| 背面描述 | The god Nilus personified, reclining to the left upon a rocky ground line, his body semi-recumbent in the classical manner. He holds a cornucopia or reed in one arm, and is attended by multiple small figures — including Erotes or putti — who clamber about his body and the surrounding field, symbolising the fecundity and life-giving nature of the river. The regnal date legend L Ϛ (Year 6) appears in the lower field, corresponding to the sixth year of Domitian's reign (86–87 AD). The composition is characteristic of the Nilus type frequently employed on Alexandrian tetradrachms of the Flavian era. |
