| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Caracalla facing right, viewed from the rear, with curly hair and short beard rendered in fine detail. The emperor wears a laurel wreath and military cuirass with visible paludamentum fastened at the shoulder. The effigy is bold and well-modeled in high relief, typical of provincial coinage from Mesopotamia. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ Κ Μ Α ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature. |
