| Obverse description | Laureate head of Emperor Nero facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition of the Alexandrian mint, with characteristic youthful features and a wreath of laurel leaves encircling the head. The neck is bare. The Greek legend ΝΕΡΩ ΚΛΑΥ ΚΑΙΣ ΣΕΒ ΓΕΡ (Nero Claudius Caesar Sebastos Germanicus) is distributed around the periphery of the flan. |
