| Beschrijving keerzijde | Two laureate emperors, Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus, depicted standing facing one another in togate attire, each holding a long sceptre in the outer hand. The two co-rulers are shown clasping right hands at centre in the traditional dextrarum iunctio gesture, symbolising concord and shared imperial power. The composition is characteristic of Alexandrian tetradrachm types struck to commemorate the joint accession of the two Antonine co-emperors in 161 AD. The regnal year date appears in the field. |
