| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Macrinus facing right, with short beard. The effigy displays characteristic provincial workmanship, with the laurel wreath rendered in bold relief. A circular Greek legend surrounds the portrait, reading ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΟΠ ϹΕ ΜΑΚΡΙΝΟϹ ϹΕ, proclaiming his imperial titles. The flan is irregularly struck, typical of provincial mint production at Carrhae. |
