| Beschrijving keerzijde | Zeus enthroned left on a high-backed throne, his body draped, extending his right hand forward to present a small figure of Nike, while his left hand rests on a tall vertical sceptre. The composition follows the canonical Pheidian Zeus type widely adopted in Pontic civic coinage. The encircling Greek legend ΑΜΙϹΟΥ ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΑϹ ΕΤΟΥϹ ΡΞΓ proclaims the free status of Amisus and gives the civic era date year 163, corresponding to 131–132 AD. The date letters ΡΞΓ appear in the lower field, and the flan edges are irregular, as typical of the local mint's hammered production. |
