Obverse description Radiate and draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, wearing the aegis on the left shoulder, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style. A star appears in the right field. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ ΤΡΑΙΑΝ ΑΡΙ ϹΕΒ ΓΕΡΜ ΔΑΚΙΚ ΠΑΡ, abbreviating his imperial titulature including Sebastos (Augustus), Germanicus, Dacicus, and Parthicus. The flan is irregular and the design is surrounded by a beaded border characteristic of Alexandrian tetradrachm coinage.
