| Obverse description | Laureate, draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the distinctive Alexandrian style with fine engraving of the laurel wreath and layered drapery at the shoulder. A six-pointed star appears in the lower right field, serving as a mint or regnal symbol. The encircling Greek legend runs along the beaded border, abbreviated to denote Trajan's imperial titulature including his Germanic and Dacian victory epithets. The portrait displays strong, individualised features characteristic of Trajanic coinage from the Alexandrian mint. |
