Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Severus Alexander facing right, depicted from the rear, with paludamentum visible on the shoulder. The emperor's effigy displays finely rendered curled hair beneath the laurel wreath, consistent with Alexandrian tetradrachm portraiture of his reign. The surrounding Greek legend reads Α ΚΑΙ ΜΑΡ ΑΥΡ ϹΕΥ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟϹ ΕΥ(Ϲ), identifying the emperor with his imperial titles. A beaded border frames the design.
