Obverse description Laureate, cuirassed bust of Emperor Severus Alexander facing right, with the cuirass rendered in fine scale pattern typical of Alexandrian provincial coinage. The emperor is depicted with youthful features, and laurel ties are visible descending behind the neck. The Greek imperial legend surrounds the effigy within a dotted border, reading Α ΚΑΙ ΜΑ ΑΥΡ ϹΕΥ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟϹ ΕΥ, proclaiming his full titulature as Augustus and Caesar.
