| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Marcus Aurelius facing right, with traces of drapery visible at the shoulder truncation. The portrait is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Alexandrian tetradrachms, with a bearded effigy and a laurel wreath crowning the head. The Greek legend runs around the periphery, partially visible on the irregular flan. The overall fabric is consistent with billon coinage of the early Antonine period in Egypt. |
