| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Macrinus facing right, depicted with a short beard consistent with his known portraiture. The effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Edessa mint, with the laureate wreath indicated by stylized rays. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΥ Κ Μ ΟΠ ϹΕΥ ΜΑΚΡΕΙΝΟϹ ϹΕ, identifying the emperor with his imperial titulature. A dotted border frames the field. |
