Reverse description The sacred mountain Argaeus depicted as a conical peak rising from a rocky base, surmounted by a standing figure holding a globe or sceptre. The flanks of the mountain are adorned with small trees or rocky outcroppings rendered in relief. The year date ΕΤ Α (Year 1, corresponding to 217 AD, the first regnal year of Macrinus) appears in the lower exergual area. The city legend of Caesarea Metropolis is inscribed around the reverse field, referencing the civic identity of the mint.
