| Obverse description | Laureate head of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with aegis at the shoulder, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style. The laureate wreath is clearly delineated, and the aegis — with its scaled surface — is visible at the base of the neck. The Greek imperial legend is disposed in two parts around the periphery of the flan, reading ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ ΤΡΑΙ to the left and ΑΔΡΙΑ ϹΕΒ to the right, identifying the emperor as Autocrator Caesar Trajanus Hadrianus Sebastos. |
