| Reverse description | An eagle stands facing right with wings spread and head turned back to the left, rendered in the typical Alexandrian provincial style. The regnal date in the form of the Egyptian year symbol L followed by the letter Β (year 2) appears to the left and right of the eagle respectively, indicating the second year of Hadrian's reign. The eagle's plumage is depicted with fine engraved detail, and the bird stands on a plain ground line. This reverse type is a hallmark of Alexandrian coinage throughout the imperial period. |
