| Obverse description | Laureate, draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style. The laureate wreath is depicted with characteristic radiating leaves crowning the imperial portrait. The surrounding Greek legend reads in abbreviated form along the coin's periphery, identifying Hadrian with his full imperial titulature. The portrait displays the emperor's characteristic features with a slightly idealised treatment consistent with early Hadrianic Alexandrian coinage of regnal year 2. |
