| Obverse description | Draped and laureate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with drapery visible on the left shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the characteristic Alexandrian provincial style, with the laurel wreath indicated by a series of leaves encircling the head. The surrounding Greek legend reads partially around the periphery of the flan. The coin exhibits the somewhat irregular fabric typical of early Hadrianic Alexandrian tetradrachms struck in the first regnal year. |
