She holds a long rudder in her right hand, its tip resting on the ground, and a cornucopia in her left arm, symbolizing prosperity and divine guidance of the city. The date regnal formula L Β (Year 2) appears in the right field, corresponding to the second year of Hadrian's reign (117–118 AD). The figure is rendered in a hieratic provincial style characteristic of Alexandrian tetradrachm coinage. The reverse field is moderately worn but the attributes of Tyche remain clearly identifiable. |
