Reverse description Draped bust of Sarapis facing right, the deity crowned with a tall kalathos (modius) adorned with a laurel wreath at its base, his long wavy beard and hair rendered in the distinctive Hellenistic-Egyptian style. The regnal date formula L Β (year 2, corresponding to 117-118 AD) appears in the field, L to the left and Β to the right of the bust. The composition is framed within a beaded border and conforms to the standard Alexandrian typology for Sarapis reverses of the Hadrianic period.
