| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of the Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and the cuirass elaborately decorated. The Greek imperial legend is disposed in two parts around the field, reading left and right of the portrait. The portrait displays the characteristic full beard and curled hair associated with Hadrian's Alexandrian coinage. |
