| Reverse description | Athena, helmeted and robed in a long chiton, stands facing left in a composed, frontal posture. In her extended right hand she holds a small figure of Nike, and her left hand rests upon a large round shield set on the ground beside her. The regnal date, expressed as L Ϛ (Year 6, corresponding to 242–243 AD), appears in the left field. The type follows the standard Alexandrian repertoire of divine reverse types associated with the imperial cult and military virtue. |
