| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Antoninus Pius, draped in paludamentum and cuirass, facing right and seen from the rear, rendered in the Alexandrian provincial style. The emperor's features are firmly modelled, with the laurel wreath clearly delineated atop his head. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ ΕΥϹ(Ε)Β, identifying the emperor with his epithet Eusebes (Pius). The flan is irregular and characteristic of Alexandrian billon tetradrachm coinage of the Antonine period. |
