Obverse description Laureate bust of Antoninus Pius, draped in paludamentum over cuirass, facing right. The emperor's effigy is rendered in the distinctive Alexandrian provincial style, with bold, somewhat schematic features characteristic of early Antonine coinage from Egypt. The encircling Greek legend identifies the emperor by his full imperial titulature. The field is plain, with the legend arranged around the periphery of the flan.
