Obverse description Bare-headed, cuirassed bust of Marcus Aurelius (Caesar) with short beard, draped in paludamentum, facing right, seen from the front. The obverse legend reads Μ ΑΥΡΗΛΙϹ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ in Greek script, encircling the effigy. The portrait exhibits the characteristic youthful features associated with Marcus Aurelius's representation during his tenure as Caesar under Antoninus Pius. The workmanship reflects the distinctive provincial style of the Alexandrian mint.
